It would be really cool to get more heat out of this thing, but at the same time, one of the best features IMHO of this grill is that you can move it cleanly - ie: I can dump it on my car seat without having ash pour out the bottom holes. Is this worth giving up to make the grill hotter? Can't the same results be achieved by dumping in an extra half chimney of lit coals? Or by adding some lump?

What are your thoughts?

Air fuels fire, and with the air coming in from the side verses the bottom it just didn't stay hot enough for me when the lid was put on. I love the bottom air hole mod, but then my SJP never leaves the patio.
