Will the hinged grate for the 18.5" models work in a SJP?

Nope, tried it. For some reason it's too small.

couldn't you put four screws through the side of the sjp for the hinged grill to rest on? That's how the top grill is held in place on my old smokey smoker. Seems like it would be a simple mod. I have that on my list to try once I finish drilling the bottom holes...bought all parts at ace hardware today.
