Jim Minion posted this recipe for a Dr. Pepper marinade in reply to a post in the Beginners Forum, and I thought I'd repost it here for the benefit of all. Sounds like one I'd like to try, since I'm a big D.P. fan.

Dr. Pepper Marinade for Brisket

  • 1 cup Dr Pepper

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup lime juice

  • 1 tsp hot sauce

  • 1 1/2 cup veg oil

Marinate brisket flats in this mixture for up to 24 hours before cooking. Spray mixture on brisket flats every 45 min or so during cooking to retain moisture. This recipe is from Billy Maynard out of Texas.

I use this marinade for my briskets and it is great. Highly recommend it.

Happy Holidays,
