Ok, Im not using my trusty WSM this time, Im just going the oven route. I have a 20 lb ham that is probably going to take 6-8 hours, and a 20 lb turkey that will probably take 3-4 hours.

I can only fit one in the oven at a time, so obviously I have to do the ham first.

My question is, will the ham be ok in a cooler wrapped in foil and towels for 3-4 hours while the turkey cooks? Ive never done this before, and Im kind of leery about leaving the ham out that long even if it is in a cooler.

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is one of those times that I might "pre heat" the cooler with hot water first before placing the ham (in towels).

Other than that - are you sure the ham will take that long? Is it a cook before eating type or a pre-cooked ham that just needs to be warmed through?

Just a thought.
