Just occurred to me, as lump burns hotter than briquettes, would lump be a better fuel source in winter? I've only used briquettes in past smokes.

The only problem that I have had while using my WSM in the winter is:

It melts thru the ice in the driveway, putting the legs in water. If you don't pick it up and put it away quickly after the cook, the legs will freeze in. I have had it froze down in 6 inches of ice before.. Not an easy task to get it out. You have to start some charcoal and let it melt the ice by itself or you could bend the legs.

I have used it at 15 below with great results.
