I used to sell the full line of Lodge cast iron products. At the time I had a camping store. Back then Lodge turned every round product to very smooth finish. I still use my Lodge 20" and 20 pound skillet. Fits great on the kettle. I think Lodge quit turning products as a cost saving plan. I seasoned it in a 350°F oven using lard and when it started to smoke I removed it to cool. Lard has no salt in it.
