Never had hanger steak before but the reviews on this site definitely made us want to try them. My wife found them at Tom Leonard's Farmers Market so it was a no brainer... Did this recipe and added some butter and wosty marinaded shrooms for a fantastic meal!!

My sous chef.

Ready to go on.

On.

Off.

Plated.

As I said, fantastic meal. Hangers are now one of our favorites...Not as good as a skirt but very, very close.

Beautiful. I've never bought hanger steak, because you never see it around. But I've had it at a restaurant and it was amazing.

Cute daughter. I can't wait for mine to be helping out one day.

Smoke'em if you got'em.

Your daughter needs an agent, she should be in magazines or on TV.

excellent!

I've been getting hangar from someone local that has pasture raised angus. We instantly fell in love with them but not the 7/lb price. A few weekends ago we scored some at a really nice shop in nyc for 4.99/lb! we took two home with us.

After removing the center sinew, I'll butterfly the halves and can easily get 6-8 nice portions. Their flavor can't be beat.

Very Nice Don! I LOVE the hanger!!
Discovered it at my local Sendik's already marinated similar to your FN.com recipe.
Hanger is a fabulous cut of beef that is offered here, most recently, quite often.
...And your daughter is an ANGEL!
Great photos!!

Great pics, Don. I will have to try to find hangar steak again. I have asked a couple of times at meat counters and have received blank stares. Now that I am in a new area maybe I can find a butcher who knows what it is.

Aw, your sous chef is adorable. My little girl is 18 and in college already. (How did that happen? Tempus fugit!)
I've been wanting to try the hanger steak. Never ate it before, but looks awesome. I recently grilled skirt for the first time and am a new devotee.
Best,
Gary
