I suppose wert I Mr Weber & it was 2 months fine, give him a new lid. But either weber accidentally put an explosive between the steel & porceline, or something fell on it.

JMHO, of course.

So I dropped my Performer lid, it got out of round. This was a year after I bought it. It also chipped off some porcelain coating. I called was honest and told them I dropped it. They sent me a new one free.

Yeah, their call - but in my case I told them exactly what happened and was willing to pay.

Ray I totally agree........years ago (if you do a search, someone fell into my WSM, bent it all up) and I told Weber. I provided proof of purchase, etc.....they sent me a new mid section and leg....WHAT more could you ask for as far as customer service!

FWIW, if there's any doubt, to the best of my knowledge, the grill came with this defect. I'm certainly NOT trying to get over on Weber for a replacement part for a $30 grill......

Now for me to go to the Ford dealership - this **** truck has 3 small dents that *I* surely didn't put in. Plus my "new" tires have somehow worn down to a lesser level than when I first bought them. They don't look new anymore.

Somebody better make this right for me.

You got my back too, right?

If Weber suffers abuses & is forced to move it's production to China I suppose that's OK, heck, it's the American Way.

We are not talking about three small dents that could have been caused by a rock or hail. You brought up the Ford Truck comparison...so if you bought a new Ford and the door handle broke off after two months you wouldnt take it back to the dealer and have them fix it?? Come on man, Maybe the weld was bad and when it got heated it popped....
