A friend of mine just bought a used Summit Silver B 2004 Model. Does anyonyone know if they make a factory smoker box for this model or suggest an aftermarket one. Im trying to get him to start smoking but I think this will get his feet wet.

Weber used to make a casst iron smoker box. I have one for my Genesis. Not sure if they still do though. Should be easy enough to find an aftermarket version.
Or just put wood chips in foil and poke a few holes in it and drop it under the grate |

I bought a cast iron box for my gasser and have found that wood chips placed in foil with holes poked in it works waaaaaay better. I do the same thing on my charcoal grill as well.

I got one for my weber silver c model and i dont like it at all. It didn't create a lot of smoke the first and only time i have used it because of how it sits across the burners on one side. Lots of unburned wood chips and a not so smokey tasting butt. Threw it in the shed and bought WSM 3 years ago. If i can find it do you want it?

I always use a foil pack in my gasser, but sometimes it just burns up.
