I marinated a whole chicken using the roasdside recipe with sauteed mushrooms. I boiled up some yukon golds, cooling them then dicing and fried up in a little butter. I managed to get one picture of some homemade strawberry pie. enjoy

This was by far the best whole chicken i have ever done - way better than any beer can chicken. This roadside recipe is so good every time - i'm thinking about some roadside wings for this upcoming weekend.

Looks awesome. Roadside chicken is my favorite. We had a tailgate party a week ago. One of the guys said that he wasn't a big fan of chicken. After a couple of bites, he wanted the recipe.

It was super juicy all the way through. Marinating the whole chicken in the roadside recipe is the way to go.

jay i srongly suggest trying the roadside recipe. I let the chicken marinate for 24 hours - rinsed and dried with some paper towels. Made a fresh batch and basted every 10 minutes. YUM YUM Big Grin

I did the samething Joe did, I think on the same day, and only marinated it for two hours in half a batch, rotating the bag it was in every twenty minutes or so. I used the remainder as a baste.

As Joe said, very moist. Best chicken I've made.

I pretty much doubled the recipe and kept rolling the bag around.I threw it in a giant plastic bag then into a mixing bowl so it would not leak in the fridge. If i could only stay 5 years old and eat like that all the time.

I cooked that bird indirect over kingsford for a little over 2 hours. I don't have a thermometer on the charcoal grill so i couldn't tell you what kind of temps i was running - i only probed the breast for an accurate reading.
