Okay everyone, what's on the menu for Smoke Day V? We have always done a fairly large cookout on the sunday before Memorial Day,with the races on,beverages flowing and good food for all. However, my wife has to work on Memorial day this year,so we are gonna do it on saturday. That way, she'll have a day to recover. She's already told me that we are having Phil-b-que(PP) and brisket. I'm guessing baked beans, mac salad, cole slaw and corn to go along with. WSM Smile

man.. I don't even know what I'll be doing in 5 minutes, but I'de like to think that I'll pick a huge chunk of meat of somekind. too bad I filled my freezer a while back w/ precisley what you mentioned.. phil-a-que. Pork and briket.. Soo... i'll take a wile guess and say that it would be nice to have some family over and friends and get a prime rib! Im just dreaming but thats what I'll shoot for. If not that maybe i'll make some jerk chicken, it never gets old and hot food + beer is hard to beat.. the heat keeps coming and that means so does the beer! Wink. by the way beer of the week for me is "Alaskan Barley Wine Ale".. (shrugs shoulders) I dont know! but its good! I got like three of the "barley wine" styles and I could get used to that style REAL fast! try some bud. have a good one.

Our old standby, chicken and ribs. There will only be 3 maybe 5 of us. Will do chicken pieces on the kettle as the WSM will have the ribs. Mac & cheese and sweet potato pie will round out the meal. Beverages, of course, will be plentiful. For dessert, my wife makes great apple pie. I'm usually good for a bunch of that. Planning, crossing out, adding, subtracting is half the fun. Hope the weather cooperates. Maybe if I can, in my old age, learn this camera thing, I'll even have some pics.

well you must not be old, cause I cant run a camera or computer either, just enough to be dangerous. On some movie I saw they called it "seasoned" anyway.

Ya, I'm seasoned alright. The seasoning is getting a little crusty around the edges. What ever you cook, have a good one.

I'll be smoking four pork butts on Saturday to make pulled pork for my family reunion on Sunday. This is my first Smoke Day, and it should be a good time.

Probably pork ribs and chicken on Saturday and either smoked tenderloin or prime rib on Sunday.

Depends on who's coming over.

Two butts, and if I can catch a good sale on spares, then a couple of racks of spare ribs.

I was going to do a couple Butts... However Jesse & Pam of "James Gang BBQ" asked me to help at the Spring training in Portland sposored by the PNWBA. So I'll be entering my pulled pork and brisket. Should be a great Smoke Day. WSM Smile

Just decided we'll be entertaining a small crowd. I've got a couple racks of BB's in the freezer that are on the menu, and I'll probably do a butt while I'm at it. And I'm sure the bird eaters would enjoy some Roadside Chicken.

We're going to be camping that weekend. But not to fear! I will be taking the WSM along it's more work but I will not be refused.

Actually it works out really good. We get there friday afternoon, so starting an all-nighter after setting up will work out quite well. Sipping a favorite beverage under the stars, with the smoker and a campfire goin' til the wee hours sounds just fine to me.

There's about 10 of us going so I'm thinking 2 9or10 lb butts. I'll trim and pre-rub them before leaving home, wrap them up, and just keep them cold on the trip.

I'm doing chicken. I have to season the bright and shiney new WSM that my husband assembled during the night last night. As I walked through the basement it was like Christmas. Unfortunately, I have to stop at the hardware store on the way home because it was missing two bolts Frowner

Might do ribs on ole' faithful too, but we are just us that weekend so I don't know if I want the hassle of two different smokers going for such a small need.

I'm thinking of trying my first smoked boneless rib roast, ribs and some great local sausage. Have the wife make her incredible mac n cheese with some beans and corn on the cob.....geez, I think I ate to much!!!

Not quite sure what the exact menu is going to be, but I can assure you that once Larry R and I get together, it will be wild and crazy as usual. We are thinking ribs, chicken, and a Fattie for starters accompanied with spicy cole slaw, stuffed ports, and of course the usual ABTFG'S. There will be plenty of adult beverages to be consummed as well. We will probably have a small crowd of 10-15 people and the pool should be just right for swimming and keeping the kids out of our hair for a little while. Sounds boring, but if your in the neighborhood drop me a line for directions.

"Sounds boring"

LOL, boring my A$$, last time we did one of these Ed C. snapped his diving board off it's platform demonstrating his triple-lindy (Rodney in Back to School) dive. It will for sure be a blow-out Smoke Day with plenty of adult beverages consumed along with fantastic smoked meats . . . and I'm sure we'll dodge a few bullets from you beer purists taking shots at us for drinking our cheap Miller beer, LOL. Can't wait, what a great day for all of us smokers.
