Went to Sam's yesterday. Got the biggest packer they had,13 lbs. It's in the freezer just waiting for Smoke Day! I'm hoping that the local grocery stores will step up and put butts on sale. If not,I'm heading back to Sam's week after next. Cool

The Dudette and I will be doing the same-o same-o..

Cooking chicken, ribs, pork butt and beef brisket at the Westmont Red, White & Barbecue Contest.

Then again the day before we are talking about inviting friends and smoking a turkey, smoked corned beef (please no argument that it is pastrami, 'cause its not), maybe a stuffed pork loin and maybe other stuff.

If you're in that neck of the woods, stop by, hit me upside the head and tell me you're from the Virtual Bullet Board. I'm a little slow.

Eeker If I tried that, I'd be in divorce court rather quickly.
I keep changing my mind on what I'll smoke. Getting to look a lot like ribs and chicken.

I guess it depends on how the yet-to-be-developed-plans shake out.

If it's just the family, probably a brisket and/or ribs. Kerri's beans, corn on the cob, and a greek salad for sides.

If we end up with company I'd like to add a few fatties, ABTs, and some roadside chicken.

We are going to have an 18", a 22" and a gas grill. Brisket,
Ribs, Pork Butt for sure....still figuring menu for rest with the normal sides - all of 'em. I ordered 3 smoke day 5 hats - hoping for good weather up in here in WA state.

That was from my first Smoke Day party. We only had a couple dozen guests, but had such a good time that we try "more and bigger" each year.

My wife is more excited about than I am. She plans to make over 3 dozen pies for our guests.

I'll try to get a picture again this year.

Your wife isn't Betty Crocker by any chance?

starting 8 butts - four on Wednesday to Thursday morning, then four more Thursday evening to Friday morning. Then take all 80 pounds to my granddaughter's School Fun Fair on Saturday. Usually sells out before two hours, and people have been asking me for weeks if I'll be there. (Of course, it's not ME they want there, just my pulled pork.)

Cheers,
Michael
