3 racks of baby backs
2 pork butts

My neighbor is used to me cooking and we always invite them and their two children (twins) when I am Queing. They asked their children what kind of food they wanted for their birthday celebration with their family and friends and they requested "Mr Rob's ribs and butt". Eeker

Just trimmed my ribs to St. Louis style and have seasoned them. They are resting comfortably in the fridge, and will go on around 10am. Larry R is bring his two racks of ribs, a fattie, and some of his famous Chipotle salad. My bride is doing her spicey cole slaw, while some other guests are bringing chicken thighs, and deviled eggs. Damn, deviled eggs and beer, this could prove to be very interesting indeed. Anyway we will have plenty of munchies prior to the finished product including burnt ends, stuffed shrooms, and oysters, as well as ABTFG's. We may be a little light on the cervesas though. I will have my two 18 packs, Larry R will probably bring three 18 and 20 packs, and our other guests will more than likely bring a 30 pack. That should cover it, but if it's anything like last year, a beer run might be in order before 7pm

Happy Smoke Day. I'm trying to get a couple pork butts going but have had a couple minor setbacks getting a few briquettes going...tried using a few that were left at the bottom of a bag but they wouldn't get going so scrapped them and opened a new bag which seems to have done the trick. It's been a few months since I've done an overnight cook and am looking forward to it - it's a nice night to have one. Also looking forward to pulled pork later today...

Good Smoke Day to you all!

Woke up at 6:00am, it's a beautiful day in east central Indiana. 60 degrees, light fully clouds, light wind, birds singing, it doesn't get any better!

Preped my 6 lb butt, and my sis-in-law two 3 lbers last night, had the WSM full of charcoal and wood chuncks ready for this morning. Put 20-25 lit coals on top of the unlit, and am waiting for 200 to start shutting her down for the long haul. Up to 185 after 25 mins.

It's going to be a great day!

Supervising about 25# of butt that has been cruising along since 11 last night. I've got a cousins graduation today and a moving party tomorrow. Should be more than enough to feed everyone. Thank goodness for foodsavers! Happy smoke day.

Good Smoke Day ! We're combining Smoke Day with our annual family pic-nic. I'll be smoking all babybacks most likely in shifts, using apple and hickory. When one smoker full gets done we'll add another. Everybody have fun and safe day! WSM Smile

You are exactly right, after firing her up, I was in the yard messing with the pups, and there was that all too familiar smell! Stopped to enjoy it, and looked at the dogs, their noses were in the air sniffing as quick as they could!

Funny stuff!

Woke up to a steady rain this morning, but I wasn't surprised - this is the 6th day in a row that we're looking for more or less all day rain.

Looks like I'll have to enjoy Smoke Day this year through all of your posts and pictures.

Have fun!

Three racks of ribs are on the smoker (e.t.a. 6:30 pm), and a batch of rib sauce has been made and is now cooling down. I'm planning to serve the ribs, corn on the cob, and roasted veggies (potatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, and carrots), plus a variety of beer, bier, and cerveza.
