I want to get rid of the quick disconnect that came with my Weber grill and switch over to the current standard. I've looked around in the stores and cannot find a replace hose/regulator kit. Anyone know how I can accomplish this or have any other recommendations?

Ace Hardware has Mr.Heater parts that should do the job.

I found the one at Ace Hardware but it sure looks like a different one to me. Here's what my connection to the manifold looks like..

This should not be a hard exersize, you only need an adapter which should be available at any plumbing supplier.
I found, in Australia, the general harware suppliers don't have all the right parts for jobs like this they cater to the DIY buisness, whereas a plumbing supplier carries a more specialised comprehensive range.
If your hardware supplier has a big range then maybe the can help.

remove the old hose from the 45 degree adaptor and take the old hose and new hose to the pluming supplier or remove the hose and 45 degree adaptor and take the new and old hose with adaptor to the plumbing supplier.
Ask the supplier what sort of sealan they recommend when refitting.
Job done.

The conversion couldn't be simpler. You just need 2 parts available at a hardware store. Then any generic hose and regulator combo would connect with no problem.

The two parts are...

On the left is a fitting with a male 3/8" flared on one side and a female straight 1/8" fitting on the other.

Then you need a little piece of 1/8" pipe. It could be shorter (closed) than the one in the picture.



The pipe piece goes in where your current hose goes using pipe dope or teflon tape. You then connect that brass fitting to it again using teflon tape.

Your new hose/regulator then connects on to the male flared end BUT on a flared junction you do not use any kind of sealer.

done!

Weber also sells the QCC1 replacement hose for their kettles. Directly from Weber - it's $30, but you can find it at other sellers for $25 or so.

I'm planning to do this conversion soon - but not from a quick-disconnect, from what the previous person hooked up some crazy Natural Gas line to it... (I'm hoping they didn't bore out the orifices or replace the manifold to do a proper NG conversion - but I might just buy both the manifold / hose to be safe)

Hey, finally ran out of gas and was trying to remove the old hose and am having trouble. Do I remove the 45 degree angle and below or leave the 45 degree angle on?

Well, I finally got this off and followed Marlene's process and that all went ok. I used a standard hose/regulator(shown in last picture above) and now the grill will not get over 350. I assume there is a difference between the Weber hose/regulator and the standard. Is this true?
