A co-worker told me yesterday she had been given a BBQ. It apparently had been sitting in a shed for fifteen years. They cleaned it up (replaced no parts) put on a new LP tank and it fired right up.

It is a Weber and has glass doors. She even got the original owners manual (in great shape) and it identifies it as a Weber Genesis Series 5000 LP Gas Grill. The serial number on the unit is DL5-EH28725.

Can anyone out there asist with more info eg year built etc.

Would appreciate any info that the folks on this forum can provide.

Nice grill. Grillwise it's basically just an old Genesis with a side burner and a cool cabinet. The regular Silver B-type grates will fit it, but it needs the double set of flavorizer bars (still available, about $65 for stainless).

I believe the "EH" in the serial number means it was made in 1994.

And people are always asking "what's so special about a Weber grill?"
