I got my Genesis in the spring this year. When I started cooking on it, it was hard to get the temperature up high enough to flame sear the meats.

After cooking on it all summer, it has gotten easier and easier to get a good flame sear. Seems like it's cooking hotter.

If this just my overactive imagination, or has anyone else noticed this?

I bought my Genesis back in 1992, I think it was, so it's probably a lot older than yours is Smiler But I never noticed that. The only time i have problems getting mine up to temperature is in the dead of Winter up here in the GWN. Otherwise, 600º is easy to reach in 15 minutes.
