I recently picked up a Genesis 1000 for a great deal. It needs some work but is actually ok shape. I will be posting pics later once i get it all up and running but my question deals with propane. I have never owned a non charcol grill so fo me this is a whole new world. So, anyway, this grill seems to have the Quick Connect hose and I also got two tanks with quick connect on them. Do they do exchanges for these as i have never seen this before? And if not how hard is the conversion to the "normal" tank set up.

i'd bet you could find someone to refill the bottles with a quick connect fitting. we go to the local uhaul. i doubt anyone would have them to swap out though.

If not, a new hose will cost about $24. Not a bad idea to replace it if you don't kno whow old the other hose is.

I have a quick connect fitting on my Performer... came to me that way. I got tired of hiking to the one local place that had the right fitting, so I bought one of the little fitting adapters from a hardware store. It cost less than $10, and now I just keep it with the grill and bring it when I have the tank filled.

I have quick connect on my 5lb performer tank. I too go to UHAUL to fill.
