Hey all, great board! been lurking for a while and this sight is the reason I took the plunge on a brand new WSM as of yesterday.

I am new to smoking but have been grilling burgers, dogs, chicken and steaks for a few years.

I own a Weber 22.5 kettle, a Char-Griller Smokin-Pro w/sfb, 2 weber smokey-joe's, a cheap knock off of the Pro-Q smoker sold at sears, a cheap Pro-Griller cabinet smoker (Menards) and the above mentioned WSM.

looking forward to gaining some WSM knowledge and swapping a story or two with all of you. Thanks for letting me join your fine forum.

Joe

Hi Joe. That's quite a collection of "toys" you have!
I'm into my 2nd cook on the WSM and love it already. Doing 2 butts and a couple of fatties.

I also own a Char-Griller pro, no sfb. Only thing I ever liked about it is the cast iron grates and sq in cooking space. Otherwise, mine leaks all over, and temps are impossible to maintain.

Anyhoo, see ya round the forum!

Welcome aboard Joe! I never would have bought a smoker had I not found this site. What appeared to be voodoo is actually kind of simple and fun.

Enjoy your new toy!

Welcome Joe from a fellow Hoosier! Nice to know someone else in this state is hungry enough to grill in our crazy weather!
