Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Thanks to everyone here I'am a proud owner of 22" WSM. Tonights is the first cook and i am ready to fire it up! The one question i do have is that the charcoal grate seems to be interfering with the vents opening and closing. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Jason

Welcome Jason!

I can't help you with the grate/vent problem but if you post the question on "New WSM Owners" area I'm sure someone will have an answer.
Not too many members read the new member posts here.

Good luck!

Hey Jason! Welcome to the BulletBulletinBoard!
Try re-positioning your coal grate so it sits on the bolts of the legs. Sometimes with the grate in an awkward placement, it does interfer with the vent tabs.
Or, simply bend the tabs of the vents back and forward until they snap off and . . . Voila! No more interference.
Hope you LOVE your new WSM WSM Smile

Welcome Jason, I had that same problem with my 22 & the good people on this site offered a solution right away. Its quite awsome to be able to learn from the experience of others here. Once you get a few smokes under your belt, you will be giving advice too. Congrats on your new toy Jason.
