Hey Pat! Welcome to the forum. As Tim said, this is a great site and I'm sure you'll return over and over again.
As your ribs go, you can use the rack or not, I cook BBRibs or spares at least once a week and used the rack, and I haven't... it's your choice.
Yes, my ribs are the best UNTIL someone gives my tastebuds a ride in another direction.
Anyway, Welcome and
Enjoy! WSM Smile

Welcome Pat, When I'm only doing a few racks on my 22.5, I smoke them bone side down on the grate. I only use my rack when I'm doing a lot of ribs. The less things to wash after the better.

I guess I musta needed more coffee cause I completly missed the question... Big Grin

When I first started out I use to roll the racks and they always came out fine that way... Then I decided I wanted 'flat' racks (no jokes now, I know how it sounds) so I started using a rib rack.

Hey Pat, I hope you pulled that new smoker out for that excellent baseball game last night!

If you have the space to lay the racks flat I would, if you don't then use the racks.

Welcome aboard Pat! It sounds like you are off to a good start

I don't use rib racks any more, but the ones that I have I bought at Lowes. I just don't like cleaning them, so I do without them.

I feel the same way, we need to invent a disposable rib rack Wink
