Hey all,
Finally ordered my WSM from Amazon yesterday (through this site, of course), then signed up for an account here! Been lurking for awhile and love all the info and help on the forums. I really got into smoking about 5 years ago and was using my old offset cooker that took a miracle to hold any kind of stable temps.

I'm getting the 18" and can't wait for it to get here. I want to do some smoking before the snow hits Connecticut. I'm thinking a nice shoulder to start off with...mmm

Aloha and welcome Dave B. Congrats on your purchase and don't let inclement weather slow you down. You'll just have to make "adjustments." I live in the Pacific Northwest and I "Q" year round!

Hello, Dave.

Lots of good information here. Check out some of the forums that are three or four pages in length.

Thanks all!

Just found out Amazon sent the WSM via FedEx (no charge!) -- it gets here tomorrow. Looking forward to some nice weather for the maiden voyage on Sunday.

Hey Bill, thanks for the tip on Ferraro's - never heard of it before today, and I'm not that far. Found their ad online; I can't believe their prices! $0.68/lb for shoulder, and $0.98/lb for butts? Will definitely be checking them out soon.
