I'm already half packed up and can't wait for the weekend. It is a great contest and I really enjoyed it last year. See everyone there in a few days.

Hey Brandon! My son's team played against Carroll County in JV football last night. We are on a roll 32-0.
As for learning, you can see a lot of different smokers and set ups. Most teams, if not busy will answer most questions. We will too but not on Saturdays until after turn ins. We want to win this thing and the competition is tough, so we plan on having our GAME FACES on.
There are some bands, fishing, some other stuff to do at this very nice campground..

Yes Brandon, As Dale says this is a good contest to walk around and learn what you can. I will help with any questions as well, Saturday mornings are busy so if you get run off or ignored it's not intentional by anyone. I will be cooking by myself this weekend I think so stop by and I may put you to work.

Hello Dale, I plan on being there around lunch or so, I hope. I'm gonna try and get my same spot from last year.

Yes I do need the help for sure, I got a new chicken and brisket receipe going this year so everybody better look out, my chicken is so fresh at meat inspection that it's still running around my spot clucking.

See ya tomorrow

Thats great Randy. I just finished prepping our chicken and it took me 3 hrs. I gotta be nuts.
You say you have a new brisket recipe too huh. Well we do too. MMMM I hope the judges like it as much as we do. Wink
Game on brother!

Congratulations to all of you that competed. It was a pleasure to come judge this event again this year. For two years in a row, I have found that the most difficult category at this competition has the best results...Brisket!There were a lot of first timers out there today I heard, but 5 out of 6 of the briskets I tried were better than most I have judged!
Oh, BTW, the won that was the best at my table had no sauce on it. The flavor of the meat was prominent and took the cake! Big Grin

I hit some bad tables.
Chicken was great, judges hated it.
Ribs were great, judges liked it.
Pork real good, didnt do well.
Brisket was fantastic. Judges hated it.

We have always been good sports whenever we have done poorly, but this time our food was good and we feel that we were judged unfairly.
I might retire from Q for a while.

I won an award!!! for having the most fun that is.

My meat scores didn't reflect how much I enjoyed the weekend. I finished in the bottom third and I will leave it at that. I got the same tables you got Dale. Hang in there and just have another beer, works for me anyway. Thanks for the hamburger too.
