Hi John,
Before I started doing competitions I had gone to several just to watch and see how they work. Most of the competitors are very nice people, more than will to talk to you and answer any questions you might have regarding BBQ. If you are talking to the right person at the right time, when they have food prepared, most are willing to offer samples and show off their labors. There are going to be vendors. If you just want to see alot of BBQ action, between 11am and 1pm on Sunday is usually a flurry of activity, but the competitors are usually to busy to talk during that time since they are trying to get their food just right and submitted to the judges.

congrats to lakeside on their 3rd place finish and to krazy kretans for theird 12th place finish. congrats to everyone for enduring the wicked cold weather saturday nite. i don't think the cold weather stopped anyone from having a great time. good to see some folks from the website this weekend.

I would also like to offer my congratulations to all who placed in the different categories. Rob, good job on the 2nd place Ribs. Saturday was a chilly night, but it definately was a great weekend. Looking forward to next season. We will get into more than 2 comps next year for sure.

i judged this one and had a great time. congrats to all the winners. best team name definitely goes to "ribbed for pleasure". i'm hoping to compete in this one next year, then maybe i'll have more of a chance to meet some of you guys.

I think Saturday night was about 20 degrees. Great contest..and great group of people. Very enjoyable....Will be back again next year and hope to meet you guys. Mike-Krazy Kretans.
