Sorry I missed that! I had a couple things to do before picking the kids up from school and had to leave by 1:00 pm. Most of the teams (that were there) hadn't finished setting up yet and many weren't even there. There was quite a line filing in when I was leaving.

Congrats on your finish! You did damn good considering.

We had a great time with some great neighbors at Oink this year. Top ten got calls which was cool and a nice improvement with that many teams. Top 15 overall Jeff congrats on you calls and it was nice meeting you….next year we’ll hopefully have more time to talk.

What I was considering when I wrote that was..

1: The field. Diva Q won GC in almost every contest she entered this year (more than half a dozen I think) .. Double D has 2 or 3 RGC's in the last 2 years .. Donnie's Smokehouse won GC the 1st 3 or 4 Oinktoberfest's.

2: You've only been cooking on a WSM(s) for 2 years.

3: You've only been reading up on bbq'ing on TVWB for 3 months.

4: You only cooked 2 briskets prior to this contest and both were high heat. You placed 5th in this contest in the hardest meat catagory to compete in.

5: This was only your 2nd KCBS contest.

6: You placed 6th overall on 2 WSM's and a Weber kettle.

I think I forgot a couple but you get the idea...

don't worry Bill, I knew what you meant. and I'd be satisfied with 6th regardless of how long we've been competing.
