I have an email out to the Lodi people. The rules stated last week that there will be no cars in the park. No vehicles allowed in the park, carry in only! I asked for it to be confirmed. I have not received an answer yet. I haven't looked recently.

Pat and I would like to try it but we are not going to carry everything into the park. We planned on carrying everything in the car and leave the trailer home.

Mike,

Are the VIP passes still available? I have a friend that may want one.

Isn't that pellet pooper on wheels?

Until they say we can drive in to drop off I'm not entering. "No vehicles allowed in the park, carry in only!" is on the entry form.

Besides, if I enter the beer contest, the case of beer would not make it to the contest site. Big Grin

Yeah, but it's not easy to roll on grass.

That;s our only weekend off in the next four weeks so we probably won't make it, but I'm thinking about it. I have WSMs that i could put in the back of the Pathfinder.

Some follow-up information:

Once your ribs are inspected, you can prep and cook. We'll have an inspector available at 7:00am

People's Choice will start at the same time as the turn-in for the official contest... 2:30pm

We should be able to accommodate teams that would like to be located near each other, just let us know team names.

We'll have Gators with trailers to help move equipment into the park.

VIP tickets are available, contact the Lodi Wisconsin chamber directly.

1st Place is $250, we're paying out to 5th place, with plaques.

Hope this info. helps! Mike

Hey Mike,

There is a lady in my area of WI (Dodgeville/Mineral Point) that is thinking of organizing a non-sactioned cook similar to yours. She was thinking of coming by to the contest. You OK with me giving her your name to look you up?

I was hoping to cook myself, but I will be returning from out of town training that day. Hope all goes smoothly. Mark

Roll call! Who's coming to Lodi for this contest? Harmony BBQ will be there. My wife is a bit upset, I sold our Badger / Ohio State tickets to do this contest instead. She said my priorities are mixed up......

If anyone needs directions to the park or anything else just give me a shout.

Mike - Thanks for answering my questions.

Michael - White Men Can't Smoke will be there. One of my teammates from the One Arm Bandit may also be competing.

It's important to support local contests! She was still giving me some grief last night, I promised her we'll be home in time to see the game on TV and then I'll whip up somethig good to eat for our tailgate party next weekend. Two night games in a row on national TV, the Badgers are getting some serious air time this year.

We'll definitely miss you Buzz! Hope to see you and Dan another time soon.

Jim, it will be good to meet you in Lodi!

We still need judges for this event... seems like everyone is going to the Royal! We are doing just ribs, although non-sanctioned we're using KCBS rules for judging. Let me know if you can make it, or know someone who may be interested.

Lodi, WI Brew-B-Que, Saturday, October 4. Turn-in time is 2:30, we'll have judges meeting at 12:30.

Mike
