Can anyone recommend a good grate lifter? I need one for my Genesis cast iron grates so it should be kind of heavy duty. I'm tired of trying to pry them up with my fingers.

I use a simple potato masher to lift grates on my gasser.

I'm surprised that I've never seen any Weber users with one of these!

Well, then again maybe not? But I've got a couple of them and use them every time I use my Big Green Eggs and Mini Drum.

But they work fantastic on the cast iron grates on my Genesis and Kettle/Performer

I could make a KILLIN if this thing sold... simple design, my access to stainless and a brake and a welder is in my pocket.
JimT, how much do these sell for?

No self respecting Egghead or Primo user would be without one-but watch out! Thirdeye is everywhere!

Wayne put a lot of thought and execution into his tools and its more of a labor of love than cashing in on us.

EXCELLENT Brian!
Such an awesome yet simple design...
too many people are sleeping while others are cashing in on us.
and I'm one of the sleepers

I have two of the Raichlin's that I've been using and like them. I like the longer handles. I use them for the 18" round CI grate I use on the WSM and on the CI grates setup on the Performer.

With two I can lift the loaded 18" round grate.

I like the looks of the others above too though.

Actually, now that I think of it, a skate hook would serve just fine. But, then, I'm Canadian.
