The mrs. Was nice enough to order me an RK….looks like the mothership will be landing Monday….any advice from you long time uses of the RK?

Don't try to lift it by yourself !

Its a great piece of equipment but does take some getting use to. Do a search under "ranch kettle" and you'll probably pick up some tips. I've had one for about a year at a vacation home so i haven't used it a great deal myself.

I have seen comments that it didn't require as much fuel as many thought. It has excellent heat control, seals well and the bottom vents are very funtional.

I use an empty plastic 1.75 liter liquor bottle with the bottom cut out to scoop out the aches after they've cooled.
