this IS interesting. found some mention of a similiar idea on a Kamado board. it does not appear exactly the same, but qite similiar. it is called a "pin cushion" rib rack.

That is the most practical rib rack for the kettle I've seen. Very cool.

That's a pretty "grate" lookin' rib rack...
this is the one I made a few years ago,

works well and can hold 5 racks of bbribs... it's pretty heavy duty and well seasoned.
I like it.
