Has anyone replaced the SS top that covers the charcoal bin and ignition button? I'm wondering how to get the hinge out of the frame that it pivots up and down on. If anyone has replaced this part, I'd like to know how they were able to do it.

You have to pry the round metal bar up out of the groove of the lid and then push this bar to one side or the other as you pull up on it. The side opposite of the one you pushed in should pop out of the hole in the frame. Then you pull out the round bar out of the other side of frame. Its easier than it sounds.

Welcome jeff...took me awhile to fiqure it out, but like Wayne said, I got some pliers then rotate the hinge around. Its "U" shaped and acts as a spring, so you just rotate it and it loosens as no tension is on the door. I replaced both steel pieces as well a couple months ago.
