The inevitable happened, they finally upped their price to match with everyone else's. I might have been lucky enough though to get their pricing but for one from Sears. Time will tell.

Too bad. The increase in gasoline prices must be affecting everything. Six or nine months ago, you could get a WSM on Amazon for $ 179 or a Performer at Crate and Barrel for $ 236.

It's always frustrating when you see a low price and then when you're ready to buy, its gone up. However, ime the new Performer at $299 is still a good buy. I paid $400 for the old version 10 plus years ago.

The pricing is seasonal. With summer coming the price went back up. If you wait until fall the price will come down again. CB usually orders a custom color each year but they have had the gray for two years now. If they have any stock remaining after summer they might blow them out to make way for a new color next year. Just speculating of course.

I checked it out, but shipping is a monster.

amazon.com quotes $25.00 for shipping to Indiana, that puts me at just $5.00 under the crate and barrell price and i have to take a green one! Although i would save on tax... hmmmmm
