1. In a previous post Bill H. mentioned he was looking for a cover for his RK. Any luck Bill?

2. In a previous post I asked about a rotisserie for a RK but only got one reply. Before I call up the EZQue people and ask for something custom, anyone got any other ideas?

If there are no sources for #1 and #2, who would be interested in a group purchase for either?

No luck Ed. I still haven't called or emailed Weber to find out if one is in the works. I'd much rather get one from Weber but, if they're not going to make one, there are a few people out there that make custom covers ~ I'd go for one.

Not sure about the EZQue rotis though. I have a Weber rotis for my Platinum that works fine but, if the price is right, Cool

Just an FYI, the folks at EZ Que are not interested in making a rotisserie for the RK. Their recommendation was to use one of the battery powered rotisseries that will fit with the lid closed. I think I'll pass on that, but thought I'd share the info.

Why do you need a rotisserie?

I know they are all the rage but I don't see the value. If anything you are limiting the surface area for smoke and crust.

Just trying to understand what all the fuss is about, but then I never got beer butt chicken either.

After two years of rust, I have just tossed out my double barreled beer butt chick stand.
$ could have been better spent.

I realize I'm responding to the expert in grilling/smoking, but I think the continual turning of the rotis has the effect of constantly basting the meat with its on juices as opposed to them falling into the drip pan.

Anyway, it taste great and is fun to do - what else is there ? Smiler

Negitive on the rotis for the RK. Ya gota remember that you can cook 37 chickens at one time on that bad boy! Why? You would need a very long spit rod. It would need to be a very large diamiter to acomidate more than a few birds. How much would this thing cost to mfg? A LOT! Not to many ranch kettles in the world. so to make the tooling to mfg such a beast wouldn't be practial for the company. Sorry.

If I wasn't an expert... They would fire me!

I'm not "the" expert Wink My wife would nominate me for the greatest klutz who's ever been close to a Weber though.

AS for the rotis question I'll finally get to play with one as I'm picking up a Plat D6 next week. I'll let you now...

as too covers i would suggest going
to an upholstery shop and have one made.
they can use boat cover material that
will last forever outside. might be a bit
more $$ but will last much longer.

Even the world's greatest brain surgeon is no doubt considered a klutz by his wife - thus it has always been Smiler !

Please report on your Plat D6 ... I'm, thinking about getting one.

Paul,

I will post a review. I did get to use one when we did catering for a film shoot and the location we used provided one in the cooking area. It worked great and using a few burners on low to maintain 225f was no problem. The Chicken and Salmon tasted great. You need to use chunks or foil pouch your chips/pellets. Pellets straight in the smoker box just burn up. You could soak chips but I'm not a wet wood fan.

I read a review that claimed 200-225 was possible with nothing but the smoke box burner. I will be giving that claim a good workout on a cool Washington night without any solar assist.

If anyone is coming to the Evergreen (WA) State Fair in Monroe we will be setup at the south end of the NASCAR grandstand.
