I currently have a Weber 22.5" gold kettle Grill, I need some help or guidance from some of the pro's here!
I would like DIY plans to build a Cart out of Aluminum or Wood, something that will not fall apart and can handle the heat without my house catching a fire. Any advice or Photos I would appreciate.

Maybe some of these will give you ideas.

The Weber website has diagrams and manuals showing how their
various 22-1/2 inch kettles are mounted on carts, assembly diagrams, etc.:

Has anyone here tried to order the parts to create a table for a Silver or Gold kettle?

The Marble table is cool Idea, I would do some research on it... but I think that would be very heavy......I also think maybe a wood-ceramic tile table design would probably be easier, and lighter as well, However I have stalled because wood tables and BBQ's sort of put me on panic mode, if you plan on leaving it unattended with a rotisserie unit in place, Fire hazard comes to mind.......I am also curious like the other user that posted, how much would a 22.5 " platinum table cost from weber? or you can not order the table??

Spiro,

This work station from the tips/mod section of this site could be the bones of what you are looking for. Changing out materials to meet your needs seems quite doable (adding a ceramic tile top, shelves, casters, enclosing it,etc.)

What are you looking to do? Is mobility a need? I went through this process a couple of years ago. The materials I used (mosty for fire protection) were stainless steel studs, cement board, and tile. I did not use any plans, but the building process is described in
this book.

Good luck.

Check this out - midway down the page is a "kettle grill caddy". I plan on doing this one of these days. Plans are $10 - looks easy enough to build.

......thanks for all the tips, people....seems like I have to do some creative thinking here......However as stated in an earlier post I really love the wooden table Idea , for some reason believe that its too much of a fifre hazard having the kettle suspended on that unit with all that heat, has anyone else built that table at home? If yes can you post some pics!

thanks...everyone

Spiro,

If you can manufacture some brackets that provide a little air space between the charcoal bowl and the table your biggest problem is going to be the wood drying out from the heat. I used the kettle off of a platinum that is suspended from the cart in this fashion. The bowl rests about an inch from the counter edge, and that make a big difference on the effect of radiating heat on the top (however, not enough to prevent your wood from drying out wood over time). Perhaps an alternative material on those edges and below the kettle will do the trick.

Good luck!
