There's a Weber cast iron griddle and special grate to hold it on ebay now. I have the PCI grate like this. I never saw the griddle until now.

It's actualy the same griddle that is used on the Genesis silver/gold b or c. I recomended this as an alt for a round cast grate for a 22 1/2 inch charcoal grate. The wire grate will hold a cast iron grate for a sil/gol b/c as well as the griddle. The griddle size is 17 1/4" X 11 5/8", same as the cooking grate.

All

When cooking delicate food or high sugar content marinated food on a cast iron griddle (hot plate) try putting a layer of baking paper on it and then placing thefood on top of the paper. It stops the transferring of flavours from the plate to the food and prevents the marinates from burning.

I guess you'd need a good bit of coal to get that thing hot, but it looks like it might be useful.
