My uncle lives on the Rio Dulce in Guatemala and reports it's pretty tough to get any kind of decent BBQs down there. So here's his homemade unit, can't imaging grilling on this thing but if it's your only option I guess you make it work. I've also included a picture from his front porch where I think this unit sits. CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS - Enjoy!

PS I'm not very happy with the free photo service that comes with SBC, it's called "flickr." As you'll see it's not very intuitive. Anyone have any suggestions of other services that are free or low cost that my be more viewer friendly? Thanks in advance.

I love it! That grill just screams "MANLY"!! A keg, some rebar, and a welder...voila!...BBQ! I'll bet the rebar leaves some cool sear marks<BAG>

.I have seen those before, even the full size drums that get converted to grills and they roast a full lamb or pig on it...there awesome..they also dissipate lots of heat

In St Louis the standard grill is a 55 gal drum cut in half with a grill or two in it.

I think that explains the sorry state of St Louis BBQ Eeker

I agree with Matt - Photobucket. For years, I followed the "free photo hosting site of the month" just to have them go away or put restrictions on linking and such. But since switching to Photobucket, they have proved to be very stable for a number of years now.
