Amazon shows one sold by BIC Superstore (in stock)for $343.31 + $28.00 and change to ship with a 3 to 4 day shipping date. Wow price increase even though it's not actually Amazon. You would have to want one real bad at that price and it doesn't do anything the old one wouldn't do.

Thanks for letting us know. I placed my pre order today. I have already acquired a performer to modify for the new smoker . Kind of on the idea of what I did with my 18 smoker. 18 Smoker mod

You should use your old one then.
The list price went up only $50, but the Amazon price is not as stellar for new products...go figure...
I don't think anyone was anticipating dumping their old WSM to get a new 18.5" model, most seemed to be more interested in the 22.5" model that is new.
As for myself, I will be fine with my existing WSM, it does me fine, and will continue to do so...but that's no reason that others might not want to upgrade, especially to the larger model.

Don't get me wrong I love Weber products but I just didn't think it would have been that much more. I would never deny a man his profit but not that much.

Thanks Buddy, pre-ordered mine through your link. First cook is going to be the biggest packer I can find at Wally world or maybe a Gigantor chuck roll, or both.

Early adopters will always pay a premium to be the first one on the block with a new toy. I understand it is 200 dollars more (22) or the added features to the 18. I believe there is product development costs from packaging and new design. They also have to retool their plant. If the market does not support two different models of the WSM there will be a dramatic price drop and then one of the product will disapear.
