What is the best method to cut out the date for just the time? When I import, I get the first column with date and time....I dont need a date.

My other thought is to just ignore it and make a new column with time at zero and add the appropriate seconds (whatever I logged at) to each row.

right click on the column header and select format cells -> number tab -> time then select the type you want to dislay.

Hello Folks..

Looks like upgrading to the new Stoker v2.0 has caused some snags in the logging software as I am unable to access any info.
Has anyone else had some success in being able to run and log your cooks using Matt Appler's application?.
Matt if your out there...can you help us????

thanks in advance,

Darren H

His app does html requests to get the webpage then parses data from the html code, with the website change, his app is no longer able to parse out the data it needs.

Matt or someone else who understands the source code he posted needs to update it.

As a work around you can telnet to the unit and capture it's output.

Hello...

I tried to use telnet and the stoker but I have come to a stand still.
Which option do I need to select to enable the use of logging abilities from the Stoker.

Below is the output of the telnet...

tini049535 login: root
tini049535 password:
tini049535 /> bbq-k
ERROR: Unknown Command: bbq-k
tini049535 /> bbq -k
stkcmd: stop
tini049535 /> gc
tini049535 /> bbq -st
bbq - Run bbq
-k Kill the current instance of the stoker
-t Enable the temperature output
-dbg_all Enable all debug output
-dbg_[c|fp|fp_menu|web|db|lcd]
Enable module debug. More than one can be specified.

Try it with just bbq -t instead of -st. Someone was able to get it to work in another thread but they didn't give the specific command they ran.

You should be able to capture the data, save it as filename.csv then it will open up in Excel or any other spreadsheet application you may have so that you can delete the unneeded columns fairly easily.

Hello Matt,

No need to apologize!. Version 2 just came out and we are having some issues in running it with your current logger application.
I know myself including others really appreciate your programming talents and your willingness to help out the gang here at TVWB.

Keep us posted on your finding's with V2 and Stokerlogger.exe.

Best Regards,

Darren H

I looked through your source code and couldn't make heads or tails out of it. I'm obviously not a programmer!

One question, is it possible to modify cook settings using VB? I'm thinking on the lines of a program that could ramp the temperature like the guru does. i.e. if meat temp = xx then set pit temp to xxx.

Also, many thanks for the logging application. I don't know why but I really love charting my cooks.

I just wanted to bump this thread to the top in order for other coding experts to have a gander a possibly provide a solution.
Hopefully, Matt can find some time to check it out and modify the code for use with 2.0 Stoker software....

Darren H.

P.S... I have four racks of ribs on the WSM right now waiting for tonight;s game...
